Rajesh was the manager and Sanju was reporting to him. They worked together for five years. The management, for business reasons, decided to relieve Sanju of his duties as he was not performing well. This means that the management decided to let go of Sanju or to tell him to leave the company or organization. It was Rajesh who had to break this news to him. Though he understood what Sanju went through, he was professional and disclosed the news to him. Rajesh had empathy for Sanju and understood his emotions however he did what was expected from him.

Example number 1 of 8:  Edward is retired from his job and plays with children from his neighborhood every evening. He understands their feeling and joy. Now this means Edward has empathy for children.

Example number 4 of 8:  People working in the human resources of an organization are expected to have empathy for the employees working in the same organization.

 

Example number 5 of 8: Doctors have empathy towards their patients. This means that doctors understand the pain or difficulties that their patients are going through.

 

Example number 6 of 8: Donna is a marriage counselor. She is able to help those couples who have problems in their married life as she is empathetic towards them.

 

Example number 7 of 8: Nataliya visits orphanage every week. She has a lot of empathy for orphans.

 

Example number 8 of 8: Suresh had not met the deadline of his presentation. In spite of that, his manager did not pull him up as he knows that Suresh was going through challenges on the personal front.
