Today’s word is: exceptional. Exceptional means: someone or something which is unusually good or impressive, not typical, much better than average.

The word exceptional means someone or something which is much above the average or capable of impressing everyone.

For example:  The harvest of grapes has been exceptional this year.

Example number 1 of 8:  Nitin’s coach recognized that he had an exceptional talent for swimming. He met his parents and asked them to enroll him for advanced sessions.

 

Example number 2 of 8: The telecom company launched a scheme offering free internet connectivity for initial three months. The subscribers found it to be very lucrative. Therefore, the company registered exceptional growth in the number of new customers for that quarter.

 

Example number 3 of 8:  The judge found that the crime was committed by the person unintentionally under exceptional circumstances. He therefore decided to be considerate and passed an order with minimum prescribed punishment under the law.

 

Example number 4 of 8:  The family expected the weather to be hot during their trip to the island. However, to their surprise, the weather was exceptionally pleasant throughout their stay.

 

Example number 5 of 8:  The latest movie had its songs recorded in an international studio having state of the art facilities. This surpassed the movie budget, but it offered an exceptional experience to the listeners.

 

Example number 6 of 8:  Nathan was honoured by the university as the best performer of the year. What was exceptional about him was that he not only scored A grade in all subjects, but also won the medal in the inter-university basketball competition.

 

Example number 7 of 8:  The detective was thoroughly confused. The crime had taken place in a premises which was locked from inside.  He had never handled such an exceptional case and he had to collaborate with a senior colleague to solve the case.

 

Example number 8 of 8: The logistics company planned an extravaganza to celebrate the completion of one million deliveries. The company wanted to celebrate its own exceptional record of on time deliveries and also to enhance its brand image.
