Today’s word is: Integrity –The meaning of “integrity” is: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.

James and Alex are brothers. One day they were playing cricket and they broke a vase by mistake. James kept quiet about it on the other hand Alex proactively (on his own) told his mother about this incident and apologized for the same. Here Alex is the one with integrity and demonstrated it as well.

 

Integrity is the value of being honest in all circumstances. An ethical person is the one who has integrity. A person with integrity is a trustworthy person, someone who can be trusted. Having integrity means being true to yourself and doing nothing that dishonors you or others. Integrity is required and appreciated everywhere.

Example number 1 of 8: Maria is so honest in the work that everybody trusts her blindly. Nobody questions her integrity. Here you can see that the quality of being honest is called integrity.

 

Example number 2 of 8: Professor Mishra is honest and has strong moral principles. Now let’s use today’s word in this sentence. Right! You can say professor Mishra is a man of integrity.”

 

Example number 3 of 8: Roy had observed some unethical (unacceptable) practices in his firm and highlighted (to tell or share the information with someone) this matter to his seniors. As soon as the concerned people were alerted, the culprits were caught and the firm was saved from heavy losses. Thus, Roy’s integrity saved his firm a major loss and his virtue (good quality) was appreciated.

 

Example number 4 of 8: According to a philosopher, Integrity is doing the right thing even when nobody is watching. Here it means that in the absence of supervision or checking, doing the correct or right thing is integrity.

 

Example number 5 of 8: Anand was handling cash transactions at a supermarket and was stationed (placed) at the billing counter. While paying for her bill, Mrs. Briganza gave an extra amount and started walking off. Anand immediately realized this, went to her and returned the extra money. This means that Anand demonstrated integrity while returning the clients’ money.

 

Example number 6 of 8: Saurav was a salesman working for a pharmaceutical firm. Whenever he approached any doctor, he presented correct information about each medicine and never provided any false information. Because of his integrity, all his clients trusted him.

 

Example number 7 of 8: Kyra had ensured that she will submit all the documents to her clients after three days. Owing to heavy rains the public transport had been halted (stopped or not functioning). However, she managed to send someone from the office with the papers and got them delivered to the client at the end of the third day, as promised. The clients were quite impressed with her integrity.

 

Example number 8 of 8: Sumi was working with a bank as a customer care executive. Two people visited her claiming to be tax officers and flashed their identity cards also. They wanted to check the transactions of some businessmen but she refused to share and guided them politely to her seniors. Hence she maintained her integrity by not disclosing her clients’ information.
