The meaning of Ecstatic is extremely happy, overjoyed


Ecstatic means being so happy or overjoyed. If you are expecting something good like scoring more than expected in your college exam and it happens or if you get an unexpected surprise gift on your birthday how will you feel? Extremely happy isn’t it? That means you feel ecstatic.


Michael was an underperforming sales executive. Then he realized his areas of improvement. He took up English Speaking lessons, how to enhance presentation and communication skills. Soon his performance started improving.

During the Annual gathering of his company, he was promoted as a manager and he became extremely happy and overjoyed. So, can we say that Michael was ecstatic when he heard about his promotion? Yes, we can. That means that anyone who is overjoyed can be called ecstatic.

He was ecstatic at this achievement.
